Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the is-cool-me subdomain service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

is-cool-me provides a free subdomain registration service that allows users to register subdomains under domains operated by is-cool-me (e.g. yourname.is-cool.me). The Service is offered at no charge for personal, educational, and open-source projects.

3. Eligibility

You must have a valid GitHub account to use the Service. By registering a subdomain, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. Use of the Service by individuals under 18 requires parental consent.

4. Acceptable Use

You may use your subdomain(s) only for lawful purposes. You agree not to use the Service to host, link to, or distribute:

• Content that violates any applicable law or regulation.
• Malware, phishing pages, scam sites, or any content designed to deceive or harm others.
• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any illegal adult content.
• Content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.
• Spam, unsolicited bulk messages, or content that facilitates abuse of other services.
• Content that threatens, harasses, or incites violence against individuals or groups.
• Cryptocurrency mining scripts or other resource-abusive software.

5. One Account per User

Each GitHub account is entitled to a reasonable number of subdomains for genuine projects. Creating multiple accounts or automating subdomain registrations to circumvent limits is prohibited. We reserve the right to remove subdomains or revoke access if we detect abuse.

6. Subdomain Ownership & Availability

Subdomains are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. is-cool-me does not guarantee the perpetual availability of any subdomain. We reserve the right to reclaim, reassign, or remove subdomains that:

• Are inactive or unused for an extended period.
• Violate these Terms.
• Are needed for operational purposes.
• Infringe on trademarks or are claimed by a rights holder.

7. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of content you publish under your subdomain. By using the Service, you grant is-cool-me a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process DNS records associated with your subdomain solely to operate the Service.

8. Availability & Modifications

The Service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We do not guarantee uptime or uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time with or without notice.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, if we determine you have violated these Terms. You may also delete your account and associated subdomains at any time by contacting us or using the dashboard.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. IS-COOL-ME DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IS-COOL-ME SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes through the dashboard or by email.
